What you would say to someone who is on the fence about participating in therapy:

Therapy is an open invitation to share yourself with others and the more you share, the more you get out of it. And like any invitation, you can decline or accept as you're ready.

Top three skills that you bring into session with you:

Listening, empathy, and a broad range of experiences.

My Approach to Therapy

Throughout my years of practice in this field, I have found that the key to a meaningful therapeutic relationship is genuine human connection. I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance can be formed with people from all walks of life. Just as in any professional or personal relationship, the unique chemistry between therapist and client plays a vital role. Once a secure foundation is developed, the potential for positive change is profound.

I have been honored to partner with clients of diverse genders, identities, and backgrounds, supporting them through a wide range of challenges—including major life transitions, anxiety, complex childhood trauma, and sexual assault.

My commitment to you is to first listen and seek to understand your unique story. Together, we will collaborate to determine personalized solutions that align with your life goals and values, providing the space you need to heal and grow in a way that is authentic to you.

If you are ready to make that investment in yourself, I am here to partner with you in achieving lasting growth.

The Role of Gender in Therapy

When considering working with a male therapist, it’s completely natural to wonder what the dynamic will be like. You might have experienced men in your life—whether partners, fathers, or colleagues—who were quick to jump into "fix-it" mode when you simply needed to be heard. You might find yourself wondering, "Can he really empathize with experiences he hasn’t lived?" or "Will this dynamic feel patronizing or patriarchal?"

In my practice, I view struggles like stress, anxiety, sadness, and trauma as universal human experiences. While we all navigate and express these struggles differently, the fundamental need for connection, empathy, and genuine support is something we all share.

Ultimately, you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to "fix" you or dictate your path, but to partner with you as you navigate your own journey toward meaningful change.

You don't need a therapist who has lived your exact story to feel understood. Real support comes from curiosity, deep listening, and a willingness to see the world through your eyes.  Empathy is a skill, and it’s one we actively practice and strengthen every day.

My focus is on creating that supportive, judgment-free environment where you can safely explore your challenges and work toward real change.  Ready to get started?  Get in touch today to book your first appointment.

FAQs

Could his perspective as a man cause him to misunderstand my experiences?

This is a completely fair question. While my perspective is shaped by being a man, my job isn't to project my lived experience onto yours—it’s to understand yours from your point of view. This is accomplished by meeting you right where you are.

Will it feel awkward to be emotionally intimate with a male therapist?

This is a valid worry.  Opening up about your deepest thoughts and feelings is already vulnerable, and doing that with a male therapist can definitely feel intimidating or awkward at first.

Priority number one: we’ll focus on creating a comfortable, down-to-earth connection, so that when you are ready to share, it comes from a place of safety and at a pace that feels authentic."
