Come As You Are Counseling & Consulting

Favorite way to practice self-care: When it comes to self-care✨, I practice what I encourage my clients to do: slow down, nurture yourself, and find joy in the little things. For me, that looks like learning to cook something new, tending to my plants, or enjoying a warm bubble bath surrounded by candles while watching a good guilty-pleasure movie. I also love creating a cozy space with blankets and pillows just to relax and recharge.
Favorite hobby/interests outside of clinical practice: While my professional role is very important to me, I’m also a person outside of being a clinician. I love exploring new recipes in the kitchen, caring for my many plants (I’m a proud plant mom 🌿), and embracing creativity through painting🎨, crafting, and music. These hobbies keep me grounded, remind me to practice balance, and help me connect with the joy and playfulness of life.
Favorite theorist: In my professional journey📚, I’ve been especially influenced by Carl Rogers, for his belief in the transformative power of unconditional positive regard; Irvin Yalom, for his deep insights on connection and meaning; and Aaron Beck, for the practical strategies that cognitive therapy provides. Together, these perspectives shape my therapeutic style as one that is empathetic, human-centered, and solution-focused.
What you would say to someone who is on the fence about participating in therapy: If you’re on the fence about therapy, 💬 I’d say this: it’s completely normal to feel unsure. Therapy isn’t about being “broken” it’s about creating a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings, and to get support for life’s challenges. Even trying just one conversation can give you a sense of whether it feels right for you. 🌟Think of it like trying on a pair of shoes, sometimes you have to test the fit before you know.
Top three skills that you bring into session with you: In session, I bring empathy with a touch of humor, because healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy. I also bring active listening, so you feel truly heard and understood. And finally, I bring creativity and collaboration, helping us explore multiple options and possibilities instead of getting stuck on just one track. You are the expert on your life—I’m here to walk beside you as we uncover your strengths and build pathways toward growth.
