My Journey
After earning my bachelor’s degree in human services, driven by my passion for helping others heal and grow, I obtained my master’s degree in counseling. I’ve always been the go-to person for support, and I realized that I wanted to transform this innate ability into a professional skill. Along the way I learned that passion is just one component in the healing process. It is about understanding the roots of a person's emotional pain and actively listening to these stories that have been obstacles in building safe and secure relationships. It is about building collaborative relationships between myself and the client for developing a foundation for healing, and it is about continuing to build my skill set so that I can continue to improve client outcomes.
The most rewarding part is planting and nurturing those seeds of possibility, hope, and wellness in my clients. To witness growth in their self-awareness, to see them navigate setbacks and bounce forward, to better manage emotional distress, to trust in themselves enough to practice skills outside of sessions. To see the evolution of their being.
Yes, pursuing counseling was a natural path, but the honor is knowing I have had a hand in affecting another person's life and helping them come home to themselves.
