What would you say to someone who is on the fence about participating in therapy: the next step: know thyself!

This is your opportunity to gain self-awareness, one step at a time.  To be honest with yourself and those who want to help you to be your very best!

My Story

I work with clients to help them manage stress, anxiety, and day to day living that can leave one feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. I work individually with each person and his/her journey to improve their mental health ... while opening up issues (that may not always be pleasant), yet in a respectful, compassionate, and non-judgmental manner. Along with each client, we plan a person-centered healthy space, creating healthy boundaries that is transformative and rewarding.

I graduated from the University of Toledo in 1999, my focus on agency counseling. I have been a member of the American Counseling Association for over 25 years. As my family grew, I maintained my licensure, participated in counseling educational training sessions, and home schooled our children.

My strengths as a therapist are honesty and treating each person with warmth and dignity. My focus is to open up the individual's unique issues to cope with stress, reconnect their inner self, process past trauma (if need be), and allow for healing and spiritual growth. I use cognitive-behavioral and eclectic techniques that are culturally sensitive, person-centered, and solution focused. These techniques help each client advance from feeling lost to having a meaningful relationship with himself/herself and with others.

As a Christian counselor, I see the benefits of assisting clients by opening up their spiritual side. This can be a great source of strength to draw from as well as a tremendous resource. However, a positive outcome may still be achievable if my client is not comfortable conversing in this area.

I encourage you to reach out. Often the initial step may be the most daunting to seek help. But I encourage you to make the connection, whether with me or otherwise, to pursue that inner peace.

I will make sure you feel heard and supported while journeying on one of your most meaningful pilgrimages. I look forward to working with you.
